Active Release Techniques
Active Release Technique is a patented, state of the art soft tissue technique that treats the muscles, tendons, ligaments, nerves and fascia after injury. Injuries that occur from pulls, tears, collisions, repetitive motion or staying in one position for too long. Each of these factors can cause your body to produce tough, dense scar tissue in the affected area. This scar tissue binds up and ties down tissues that need to move freely. As scar tissue builds up, muscles become shorter and weaker, tension on tendons causes tendonitis, and nerves can become trapped. This can cause reduced range of motion, loss of strength, and pain. If a nerve is trapped you may also feel tingling, numbness, and weakness.
ART can help conditions such as:
- headaches
- carpal tunnel
- back pain

- shin splints
- shoulder pain
- sciatica
- plantar fasciitis
- knee problems
- tennis elbow and more
What are treatments like and what can I expect?
As the name implies, Active Release Techniques uses motion to fix the problem. Once the injury is identified we use hands on treatment and patient motion to “free up” the problem areas. Treatment duration and frequency vary depending on the severity and complexity of the injury however most patients experience rapid, often permanent, recovery.
